Photography has always been part of who I am. I’ve had a camera in my hands since my photography classes back in 1999 and 2000, starting out in 35mm black-and-white film. For over 26 years, I’ve never put the camera down—it’s been a constant passion, evolving with every moment, every face, and every story.

In 2018, everything changed. We stepped onto the beach… and fell completely in love with photographing families from all across the United States. What started as a new direction quickly became something much bigger than we ever imagined. Over time, our name began to spread—becoming recognized among major vacation communities and trusted by families returning year after year.

Meet Joel Spedale

Joel, son of Joe Spedale Jr., has already established himself as Florida’s youngest paid professional photographer. Though he has officially been working with the public for the past two years alongside his father, Joel’s journey began over five years ago, when he first expressed interest in following in his father’s footsteps.

Joe Spedale Jr., a seasoned photographer and photography workshop instructor, recalls the early days vividly.

“It seems like yesterday that he was such a small kid. I remember having little baby Joel on the seamless white background in the studio, taking his photos as an Olan Mills photographer. Now, he’s the one taking photos and videos for others. I’m so proud of this kid. He wows me every single day with what he’s learned over the years. Some skeptics have questioned whether Joel is truly behind the lens, suspecting instead that his father’s 26+ years of experience might be responsible for the impressive work. Joe Spedale Jr. continues to work across multiple photography disciplines, including portraiture for models, families, commercial real estate, Airbnbs, and video production. He is a leading photographer for vacation sessions on Panama City Beach, Florida. His pricing remains competitive, often lower than many of his peers, driven by his desire to stay busy with more sessions rather than simply chase higher profit margins. He jokes that he would gladly do photography for free as a passion or hobby, but he is proud that Joel is now earning money to fix up his car, buy the fun things teenagers love, and even save up for a new guitar.
