Q. How will the photos look?

A. We take the flat-looking image and add more color and contrast, reduce some shadows, and straighten the horizon. Then we narrow down the keepers. We then pick your photos for you. Then delete the non-keepers.

Q. What type of editing is included with my session?

A. Basic is only to clean up the raw basic look from a raw format to a finished JPEG format.

Q. Who decides how the final photographs will look?

A. Photography is subjective, meaning different people may have different opinions about poses, expressions, colors, lighting, and editing styles. Spedale Jr. Photography is the professional you hired, and booking with us means trusting our experience and artistic judgment when selecting images, choosing the strongest poses and expressions, and creating the overall finished product.

Our photographs are edited and delivered in the recognizable style we are known for. We will not change our photography style, image selections, poses, colors, or finished look based on personal editing preferences after delivery. Customers should review our portfolio before booking to make sure our style is the right fit for them.

Q. What is a “keeper” photo, and what makes it a keeper?

A. A keeper is a photograph that meets our professional standards and is strong enough to be edited and delivered.

A keeper normally has:

• Sharp focus
• Good lighting and color
• Natural expressions
• Open eyes
• Flattering poses and angles
• Clean composition
• No major motion blur
• No obvious duplicates
• No serious clothing, hair, or background distractions

Photography is subjective, so Spedale Jr. Photography uses professional experience and artistic judgment to choose the strongest images from each session. Booking with us means trusting our decisions regarding expressions, poses, angles, editing, and the overall finished collection.

Photos with closed eyes, poor expressions, missed focus, excessive blur, awkward movement, repeated poses, or other problems are not considered keepers and will not be delivered.

Q. Why did I get so little photos? 

A. We must have the following. Note you didn’t pay for an amount of photos. You paid for a time with us on the beach.

Q. Why wasn’t my sunburn removed during editing?

A. We understand that sunburn can happen unexpectedly, especially while vacationing at the beach. Our standard editing includes professional adjustments to lighting, color, contrast, and overall skin tone; however, completely removing significant redness or visible sunburn requires extensive, detailed retouching and is not included with standard editing.

To help prevent this, we recommend scheduling your session earlier in your vacation and limiting sun exposure before your appointment. Please use sunscreen, stay hydrated, and avoid tanning or prolonged time in direct sunlight whenever possible.
